Whereas this organization recognizes the vital importance of successful role models in a student’s development, and

Whereas the best educators of the blind are teachers who are themselves blind, and

Whereas the vast majority of teachers of blind students are sighted,

Be it resolved that we urge training programs for educators of blind children in any capacity to actively recruit and give priority to qualified applicants who are blind.
